On the track

I started track and field at the age of 7 at the SCC Berlin track club. At that time, I did many events, ranging from 50m sprint to 5k cross-country races. In 2008, my family and I moved to Switzerland and I joined my current club, LAS Old Boys Basel, in 2009. In 2011, my former coach discovered my talent for hurdles and I won my first Swiss championship title in the 80m sprint U16 category the following year. 2017 was my breakthrough year. My times significantly improved and I took part in my first international competitions. 2017 was also the year I celebrated the greatest success of my career so far: I was part of the Swiss gold-medal winning women’s 4x100m relay at the 29th Summer University Games in Taipei (Switzerland 4x100m relay: Del Ponte, Kora, Halbheer, von Jackowski). In 2018, I qualified for the European Championships in Berlin. Unfortunately, I could not yet realize my dream of competing at a senior championship that year. A fall during practice caused a cruciate ligament and meniscus tear in my left knee. What followed was a surgery and nine months of rehab. I had a successful comeback in 2019 and almost ran as fast as before the injury. I competed in the European Indoor Championships in Torun in 2021. In 2023 I represented Switzerland for the second time at the 31st Summer University Games, this time in Chengdu.

Off the track

Variation in my daily routine is extremely important to me. After graduating from high school in 2015, I decided to continue my athletic and academic career in the United States. I committed to the University at Buffalo where I was able to balance school and sports. I was a full-time student at the School of Management and a full-time athlete for the university's D1 track and field team. Four years in the U.S. eventually turned into five. In addition to earning my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude), I also received my Master of Science in Finance (3.82 / 4.00) in Buffalo. Since Spring 2021, I have been doing my doctorate at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel.
